How to illustrate for the Conflict Game

Postby SimonMiles » Wed Aug 11, 2010 12:37 pm

1. Have a look at some of the examples on our or this to give you an idea of the style we are looking for.
2. post us a few complete illustrations to show us what you can do, or post a link to your gallery
2b. We will need to add you as a booster illustrator
3. Choose a deck element (Air, Fire, Water or Earth) and post up sketch or 2 (scanned or digital) for initial approval in the relevant brief that you have chosen
4. We will approve the sketch or ask for some alterations
5.When approved you can complete the image and we will add it to the "Complete List"
6. Continue to send sketches for inicial approval and start sending completed illustrations as .jpg or .psd files
(We would prefer all art work to be sent in a jpg format for aproval and a photoshop psd file with all layers for final)

We would like to be able to use the illustration as full colour or solid black and white (see swine rider example), the black and white images may be used for the novels, maps, box illustration, game money, beta test decks etc...

Try to put the ilustration in to at least 3 different sections; the back ground, focal image and forground and each with its own outline, shadow and colour.(not necessary but we would be grateful)

The dimensions are about the same as an international A4

148mm x 210mm
or
1748 pixels x 2480 pixels

This is a small size but remeber it is being reduced to the size of a playing card so, if the image is too large, a lot of detail would be lost.
there is a you can use in the section of the

We would describe the art style as pen and ink in a gritty adult cartoon style.

this is how the illustrations will look in the card graphic

I'm about to apply for the position, but I'm confused with this . Am I supposed to send you a link to my gallery/examples AND some preliminary sketches when I apply? or are you only asking for my gallery/examples in the application?
Thanks for your help.

all you need to do acsmith, is choose a brief from the , one that has not been taken by another illustrator, and post a sketch of your idea :D

if you are not sure if the brief is free just ask ;) look for ones with stars on them...
